Greg Joiner
CEO, Shell Energy
Greg has held several roles within Shell over the last three decades that have prepared him for the challenge of leading Shell’s ambitions in new energies and power in Australia.
Initially working within Shell’s downstream retail and commercial marketing businesses, Greg played a key role in the establishment of Pulse Energy – the company’s early 2000s entry into electricity and gas retailing.
Greg subsequently held leadership roles in Shell’s Global Commercial division in both Singapore and London across strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and general management of regional and global business units.
He returned to Australia (Perth) in 2013 to head upstream business development and the role of Shareholder Representative for Shell’s interests in Arrow Energy in 2015.In January 2019, Greg took up leadership of the Shell Energy trading business in Australia, becoming CEO of ERM Power following Shell’s acquisition in November 2019. In February 2021 these businesses came together under the Shell Energy brand.
Greg leads this integrated electricity and gas business in its ambition to build a new energies business that helps its customers thrive through the energy transition.
