Jas Chambers is the Chair and Co-founder of Ocean Decade Australia, a not-for-profit charitable organisation that is connecting Australia’s ocean stakeholders through new and novel approaches to bring about national change and improvement in our approach to ocean management, stewardship, and use. Jas is committed to learning and sharing knowledge about the Sustainable Development Goals, and in particular how SDG14 – Life below Water links to other goals. Jas has worked in Australian higher education and government in senior leadership roles across STEM operations, organisational transformation, communications, and international science diplomacy including with United Nations Specialized Agencies and the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, representing Australia. Jas is a graduate of marine science, psychology and communications, and is a public speaker and strategic advisor at Provenance Consulting. She serves on the board of Science & Technology Australia and as Chair of the Sydney Institute for Marine Science Foundation.
